Blog on the out siders
We are currently reading a book called the outsiders. This book takes place in about the 1950s-1960s. It is about the life of gangsters. In the book, there are two different groups. There are the greasers and there are the socs. It is a classic rivalry of class. The book describes the greasers as more tough and hard life kids in rough neighborhoods that have to grow up fast and be tough, on the outside at least. The socs have easier lifes but still not too easy. They have there hard times but they also have good parents and a good education. The socs like to pick on the greasers when they are in a good situation. Mostly when the greasers are alone. The greasers are aware of this fact so they try to walk in packs. The person telling the story is pony boy. He is a greaser he has an older brother and a younger brother. His older brother is Darry. He is tough on the outside but he has feeling for his brothers. Their parents died so he has to look after them. Pony boy has another brother named soda. He is crazy and need work but he is like pony boys closet friend to his heart.

Well, the only book that you can't blog about is the book we are reading for class - This is from the assignment that is up on moodle, on the Doobleedoo and in your packet - "Your post will be about your thoughts on the book that you are reading (not the book we are reading for class)."
ReplyDeleteIf I did let you blog about the book we are reading for class, I would would want you to tell me more than the plot - I know the plot of a book that we are reading for class - What did you read in class that week? My notes tell me that you were absent from class, but I would imagine that you have read something this year.
